These are a few images from my book, Down on the Farm: The Last Dairy Farms of North Stonington. Thirty years ago my hometown had some 25 dairy farms operating within its borders. As elderly farmers passed away or economic conditions changed, farms here, as in all of New England, have rapidly disappeared. This book documents with interviews and over 200 photographs daily life on the last four family farms still operating in our town.
